Item 7 Staff Report Accept Report on October 8, 1995 Mini Town HallCOUNCIL AGENDA DATE: 10/16/95 ITEM NO. 7 TOWN OF LOS GATOS COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT DATE: OCTOBER 12, 1995 TO: MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL FROM: TOWN MANAGER SUBJECT: ACCEPT REPORT ON OCTOBER 8, 1995 MINI TOWN HALL RECOMMENDATION: Accept report on October 8, 1995 Mini Town Hall DISCUSSION: A mini Town Hall was held October 8, 1995 at the Farmer's Market. Following is a sampling of community comments received: ► A Monte Sereno resident stopped by to compliment the Police Department on its work at Dave's Avenue School. • One citizen stopped by to express opposition to the Los Gatos Country Club; another couple expressed support for the Country Club. ► One gentleman expressed his support for design improvement to Los Gatos Boulevard. ► A resident of the Santa Cruz mountains expressed concern about the mess left on our sidewalks by a rising member of dogs. He expressed a willingness to help the Town install plastic bag dispensers to encourage dog owners to pick up after their pets. One of the Town's intern is running down the sources and prices of such dispensers. • Two residents expressed concern about the condition of our streets, especially North Santa Cruz Avenue. One offered that if an election were necessary to secure revenue, he would like to work on a citizen's group to support such an issue. • A Campbell resident expressed concern about vandalism of her mail box which she believes was done by children who live at our West Parr Apartments. • A woman who recently went through our Development Review Process stopped by to compliment the Town, especially Kristine Syskowski, on our Development Review Process. She said that, based on stories she had heard, she expected the worse. She was pleasantly surprised to find that our staff was extremely helpful. She also mentioned that Patty Lazaneo was very helpful. • A woman who lives near Villa Vasona complained that there is speeding by young people Friday and Saturday evenings on Winchester. I have asked the Police Department to focus some enforcement in that area. PREPARED BY: DAVID W.
