SUBJECT: CONSIDER INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS AMENDING THE START TIME FOR REGULAR MEETINGS OF
THE TOWN COUNCIL (ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 2)
Recommendation:
1. Direct Clerk to read the title of the proposed ordinance.
2. Waive further reading of the ordinance.
3. Introduce the ordinance.
Discussion:
Section 2.20.010 of the Town Code specifies that regular meetings of the Town Council begin at
7:30 p.m. Council recently expressed an interest in an earlier start time, which was done during the
meetings on March 5 and 19, 2001 by setting special meetings to cover the earlier start times.
Introducing the attached ordinance to amend section 2.20.010 is necessary to officially reset the
starting time of future regular meetings of the Town Council. If approved by Council, ordinance wi 11
take effect May 16, 2001. Until then staff recommends continuing with 7:00 p.m. start time special
meeting notice.

ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING
THE START TIME FOR REGULAR
MEETINGS OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
(ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 2)
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I
Article II of chapter 2 of the Town Code of the Town of Los Gatos is hereby amended as
follows to change the starting time of regular meetings of the Town Council from 7:30 p.m. to 7:00:
The regular meetings of the Town Council will be on the first and third
Mondays of each month at 7:3 600 p.m.; however, when the day fixed for any regular
meeting of the Town Council falls upon a day designated by law as a legal or national
holiday, the meeting will be held on the next succeeding day not a holiday. The Town
Council may cancel a regular meeting by a vote of a majority of the Council. The
Town Council may establish additional regular meetings by adopting a calendar of
scheduled meetings at least thirty (30) days prior to such meetings. A current,
adopted calendar of Council meetings shall be posted in the office of the Town Clerk.
SECTION II
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos on , 2001, and adopted by the following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos
at a meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on , 2001. This ordinance takes
effect 30 days after it is adopted.

SANTA ROSA DRIVE 471/RESIDENTIAL DEMOLITION/RESOLUTION 2001-41 (14.15)
Motion by Mr. Blanton, seconded by Mr. Attaway, that Council adopt Resolution 2001-41 entitled,
RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DENYING AN APPEAL OF A DECISION
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO APPROVE AN UNLAWFUL DEMOLITION OF
A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW RESIDENCE
ON PROPERTY ZONED HR-25/2 . Carried unanimously.
TOWN COUNCIL/REGULAR MEETING TIMES/ORDINANCE 2082 (15.12 & 29)
Motion by Mr. Blanton, seconded by Mr. Attaway, that Council adopt Ordinance 2082 entitled,
ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING THE START TIME FOR
REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE TOWN COUNCIL (ARTICLE H OF CHAPTER 2). Carried
unanimously.

Motion by Mr. Blanton, seconded by Mr. Attaway, that Council accept report designating Town
of Los Gatos "Tree City USA". Carried unanimously.
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
Parking Safety South Santa Cruz:
Brad Wyatt, 18400 Overlook Road #5, spoke about the new diagonal parking on South Santa Cruz
on the west side of the post office, which he believes is unsafe, and he asked that Council reconsider
this action.
Campo DiBocce CUP:
Chris Wiley, 544 University Ave., spoke about Campo Di Bocce and the 12 midnight closing time
that the business had agreed to. She was concerned about the possibility of the establishment
remaining open until la.m. She noted the noise and traffic late at night.
