RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ESTABLISHING PARKING REGULATIONS, INCLUDING TIME LIMITS, DATE AND TIME
OF ENFORCEMENT, AND PARKING PERMIT EXEMPTIONS FOR PUBLIC PARKING
AREAS DOWNTOWN AND IN THE OLIVE ZONE
WHEREAS, the Downtown Parking Management Plan, as adopted in Resolution 2001-
145 on December 17, 2001, established various parking management strategies for downtown
commercial areas and near the high school and Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the parking regulations provided in the Downtown Parking Management
Plan have been adjusted over the years, as authorized by action of the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 22507 and Town Code Sections 15.40.015
and 15.40.080 authorize Town Council to enact local regulation of parking prohibitions and
preferential parking zones by resolution, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council seeks to reaffirm current parking regulations downtown
and near the high school and civic center (now known as the Olive Zone), as depicted in the
attached map of Downtown and Olive Zone parking regulations (Exhibit A), in compliance with
state and local laws.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
does adopt Exhibit A, attached hereto. The parking regulations adopted herein shall not
invalidate any currently posted parking regulations or curb markings indicating restrictions for
short-term parking or passenger and commercial loading activities. The parking regulations, as
described in Exhibit A, become effective only upon the erection of appropriate signs giving
adequate notice of such regulations.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, California, held on the 4th day of March, 2025, by the following vote:
