Minutes of the Town Council Special Meeting – Closed Session
Tuesday, May 20, 2024
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Special Meeting in-person and utilizing
teleconferencing means on Tuesday, May 20, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. to hold a Closed Session to
discuss labor negotiations, existing litigation, and public employee appointment.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 5:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Mary Badame, Vice Mayor Matthew Hudes, Council Member Rob Moore,
Council Member Rob Rennie, and Council Member Maria Ristow.
Absent: None
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS (ONLY ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA)
None.
THE TOWN MOVED TO CLOSED SESSION ON THE FOLLOWING ITEM:
1. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS (Government Code §54957.6)
To meet with Town Negotiators listed below in closed session pursuant to Government
Code §54957.6 regarding negotiations with the Employee Organizations listed below:
Town Negotiators:
Lisa Charbonneau, Liebert Cassidy Whitmore
Katy Nomura, Assistant Town Manager
Employee Organizations:
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
Town Employees Association (TEA)
2. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL – EXISTING LITIGATION (Subdivision (a) of Section
54956.9) Name of case: Reimann v. Town of Los Gatos
3. PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT (Gov. Code Section 54957)
Title: Interim Town Manager
The Town Council reconvened in open session. Mayor Mary Badame reported that at the
request of the Town Council, Town Manager Laurel Prevetti has agreed to extend her end date
to at least through August 2, 2024 to accommodate the anticipated Town Manager recruitment
timeline. The Town Attorney stated there was no reportable action for the items related to
labor negotiations and existing litigation.
