Minutes of the Town Council Special Meeting - Commissioner Interviews
Tuesday, March 19, 2024
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a special meeting in-person and utilizing
teleconferencing means on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. to conduct interviews for
vacant seats on the Town Boards, Commission, or Committees.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 6:01 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Mary Badame, Vice Mayor Matthew Hudes, Council Member Rob Moore,
Council Member Rob Rennie, Council Member Maria Ristow.
Absent: None
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
No one spoke.
BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE INTERVIEWS
1. Interview Applicants and Make Appointments for the Following Committee and
Commissions: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission; General Plan Committee; Parks
and Sustainability Commission; and Planning Commission
The Council interviewed the following applicants for Town Boards, Commissions, and
Committees:
• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission (1 vacancy, 1 applicant)
o D. Michael Kane
• General Plan Committee (2 vacancies, 1 applicant)
o Stephen Shelton
• Parks and Sustainability Commission (1 vacancy, 1 applicant)
o Mike Buncic
• Planning Commission (1 vacancy, 3 applicants)
o Jared Ajlouny
o Jeffrey Barnett
o Kendra Burch

Council completed ballots and the Town Clerk read the votes into the record.
Council made the following appointments:
• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission (1 vacancy, 1 applicant)
o D. Michael Kane was appointed to a partial term unanimously.
• General Plan Committee (2 vacancies, 1 applicant)
o Stephen Shelton was appointed to a partial term unanimously.
• Parks and Sustainability Commission (1 vacancy, 1 applicants)
o Mike Buncic was appointed to a partial term unanimously.
• Planning Commission (1 vacancy, 3 applicants)
o Jared Ajlouny received no votes.
o Jeffrey Barnett received two (2) votes from Mayor Badame and Council Member
Rennie.
o Kendra Burch received two (2) votes from Council Member Moore and Council
Member Ristow.
Due to the 2-2-0-1 vote, new ballots were redistributed for Council to vote for either Jeffrey
Barnett or Kendra Burch. The Town Clerk read the votes into the record.
• Planning Commission
o Jeffrey Barnett was appointed to a partial term by three (3) votes from Mayor
Badame, Vice Mayor Hudes, and Council Member Rennie.
o Kendra Burch received two (2) votes from Council Member Moore and Council
Member Ristow.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
