CATEGORY 1: Unmanned, remotely piloted, powered
aerial or ground vehicles (Robot, UAV’s aka Drones)
CATEGORY 10: Specialized firearms and ammunition of
less that .50 caliber (Rifles and Ammunition)
CATEGORY 12: Noise-flash diversionary devices and
explosive breaching tools, munitions containing tear gas
or OC, excluding standard, service-issued handheld
pepper spray (Noise Flash Diversionary Device and Tear
Gas)

LGMSPD has NOT sought out or received the transfer
of Department of Defense equipment that qualifies
under AB 481 through the 1208 or 1033 Programs.

the AB 481 Ordinance

LGMSPD will have
continued access to each
of the resources currently
available. In addition, the
corresponding policies and
procedures would remain
in effect; including the
ability to provide and
receive mutual aid
Town Council does not renew
the AB 481 Ordinance
LGMSPD would cease use of
equipment designated by AB 481
and would be required to redesign
policies, procedures and
operations for critical incident
response; including the ability to
provide and receive mutual aid,
which in turn would negatively
impact public safety.
“Within 30 days of submitting and
publicly releasing an annual military
equipment report pursuant to this
section, the law enforcement agency
shall hold at least one well-
publicized and conveniently located
community engagement meeting, at
which the general public may discuss
and ask questions regarding the
annual military equipment report and
the law enforcement agency’s
funding, acquisition, or use of military
equipment.”
