Mayor and Council,
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the study session this evening. Because I will not be there in person, I
wanted to send I my brief thoughts.
My general comments on Sidewalk Vending are that I would like to maximize the amount of discretion the Town
has to deal with the variety of different sidewalk vendors we have in Los Gatos, though I recognize that is difficult
legally. I would support any way that we can continue to honor the original intention of the Sidewalk Vending
ordinance (allowing folks with rolling cards to sell street food) and discourage unforeseen used (setting up large,
disruptive canopies to sell t-shirts and other merchandise). I would estimate that I have received at least 10
comments from the public concerned about the vendors set up near the Chevron and 76 gas stations, so I do feel it is
important to address this community concern.
