Insights & Updates:
Town of Los Gatos
A total of 2,400 older adult households were
randomly selected to receive the survey. These
households first received a half-page postcard
inviting them to complete the survey online,
followed by a mailed hard copy survey packet
which included a cover letter, a copy of the
questionnaire and a postage-paid return envelope.
A total of 631 completed surveys was obtained,
providing an overall response rate of 26.29% and a
margin of error plus or minus 3.89%.

How we use the CASOA Data
We look at the problems and gaps identified in the data, guide community
partners and work internally to create targeted programs that bridge the
gaps, and launch solid, well funded projects. We then monitor the progress,
make smart adjustments, and take community feedback into account.

Senior Guided Pathways
Seniors who sign up for, or renew their membership at a SASCC are simultaneously enrolled as a student
at West Valley College
Enrollment is assisted and facilitated by senior center staff and volunteers who are trained as Student
Success Coaches.
Customized Senior Guided Pathways are offered, as well as a-la-carte class options at the time of
enrollment, and during special events throughout the year.
The goals are to increase enrollment for the colleges, provide skills and training for people age 55 and
over who want to remain in, or reenter the workforce, and to build new career pathways for traditional
college-age students in the aging services sector.
One of the most exciting projects is the new Senior Guided Pathways Pilot Project at West Valley College.
SASCC will offer Dual Enrollment opportunities to each of it's members.
