PROJECT BACKGROUND
•Shannon Road between Diduca Way and Santa Rosa Drive requires repair of the northern
lane (which carries westbound traffic toward downtown Los Gatos)
•Design of permanent improvements is complete and property owner coordination is
underway
•In July 2023 the condition of the westbound lane had deteriorated to the extent that
motorists could no longer safely use the road.
•Parks and Public Works considered: 1) alternating one way traffic signals; 2) temporary
repair of the damaged road section; and 3) full closure of the roadway.
•Alternating one way traffic pattern was implemented in August 2023.
•Erratic driver behavior has been reported through the closure
