Subject: Public Comment - Los Gatos Town Council Agenda, 11/7/23, Public Hearing, Item 17, Proposed
increase in building density on Oka Road
[EXTERNAL SENDER]
Honorable Town Council,
I am writing to voice my opposition to the proposed increase in building density on Oka
Road. Increasing the building density on Oka Road is a dangerous proposal. Oka Road
only has a single point of entry/exit for traffic. In the event of an emergency, residents
will be trapped. This problem is not considered by standard traffic calculations and
cannot be remedied by traffic measures or signal settings.
A proposed increase in building density on Oka Road was already rejected by the Los
Gatos Town Council in recent years because of this potential for dangerous
conditions. I request that the current Town Council reject the proposed increase in
building density on Oka Road, and reiterate that existing zoning should be maintained
long-term to avoid dangerous conditions.
Best Regards,
Chris Cowan
Homeowner, Oka Road neighborhood
