10 Attachment 14 - Additional Response from the ApplicantFrom: Jessie Bristow <jbristow@swenson.com> Sent: Sunday, September 17, 2023 4:13 PM To: Jennifer Armer <JArmer@losgatosca.gov> Subject: Additional Material's Response of Attachment 8 [EXTERNAL SENDER] Dear Jennifer, Please accept this email as our response to the additional information provided by the appellant. The information developed by the appellant and Mr. Mekechuk demonstrates a skewed survey. Most data and analytical surveys used in studies have multiple approaches in gaining feedback and information, such as in-person questionnaires, telephone canvassing, online surveys, and demographic information from data sets from the county or the U.S. Consensus. Their approach is interesting, and I am unsure of what they are trying to accomplish, as some of their information in their survey is not accurate. Fortunately the development and reinvestment of property in the Town of Los Gatos and the State of California is not dictated by those who have Nextdoor accounts. There are responses in the survey of where people support the project and are against the project. From the provided survey it seems the opinion is split. Page 29 and 30 of the survey even have comments of people sharing that the additional height is not a big deal, the proposed project is a good use of the site, and that we need to build more density in the Town of Los Gatos. I would also like to respond to the survey's introduction: While it may appear to be a good use of the land, there is a very similar facility that is almost completed on Blossom Hill Road. You may have seen the construction site just on the east side of Highway 17. It is a senior living/memory care facility as well. There will be two very similar facilities less than 0.7 miles apart. A true survey would provide objective information and not try to sway those who are being canvassed. However, to criticize a project of the same use that caters to a growing demand and need for the community, the state, and nationwide, is quite ridiculous. I would compare this criticism to being upset about two different apartment buildings on each end of the same block, or being upset that there are two gas stations on the same street.
