SUBJECT: Adopt an Amended Resolution for the California Public Employees’
Retirement System Retirement Plan to Waive the 180-Day Retiree Rehire
Wait Period and to Appoint Sean Rose as the Temporary Capital Projects
Manager in the Parks and Public Works Department
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt an Amended Resolution (Attachment 4) for the California Public Employees’ Retirement
System Retirement Plan to waive the 180-day retiree rehire wait period and to appoint Sean
Rose as the temporary Capital Projects Manager in the Parks and Public Works Department.
REMARKS:
The September 14, 2023 staff report included a recommendation to rescind Resolution 2023-
046 in addition to adopting an amended resolution. After further coordination with CalPERS, it
was determined that Resolution 2023-046 should not be rescinded and that this item should be
placed under Other Business. A revised amended resolution removing the rescission is now
included as Attachment 4.
Staff recommends that the Town Council adopt this Amended Resolution (Attachment 4) for
the California Public Employees’ Retirement System Retirement Plan to waive the 180-day
retiree rehire wait period and to appoint Sean Rose as the temporary Capital Projects Manager
in the Parks and Public Works Department.
