Minutes of the Town Council Special Meeting – Study Session
Tuesday, June 20, 2023
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a special meeting in person and utilizing
teleconferencing means on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 5:30 p.m.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 5:35 P.M.
ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Maria Ristow, Vice Mayor Mary Badame, Council Member Matthew Hudes,
Council Member Rob Moore, Council Member Rob Rennie.
Absent: None VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS No one spoke.
STUDY SESSION
1. Discuss and Provide Direction to Potentially Modify Town Policies and Procedures, Including
Town Council Policy 2-04, “Town Council Code of Conduct,” Town Council Policy 2-05,
“Planning Commission Policies and Procedures,” Town Council Policy 2-11, “Commission
Appointments, Residency, and Attendance Requirements, and Establishing a Quorum,” and
the Commissioner Handbook.
Gabrielle Whelan, Town Attorney presented the staff report.
Council Member Hudes commented on concerns and stated that he will be recusing himself
from this item on a voluntary basis.
Council Member Badame commented on concerns and stated she will be recusing herself from
this item on a voluntary basis.
MOTION: Motion by Council Member Moore to continue the study session to a date to be
determined when the recusals can be resolved. Seconded by Mayor Ristow.
VOTE: Motion passed by a 3-0-2 vote. (Council Member Hudes and Vice Mayor Badame
were recused).
