SUBJECT: Adopt Ordinance 2339 Titled “An Ordinance of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos Amending Chapter 3, “Amusements,” of the Town Code
Regarding Bingo Award Amount Amending Section 3.50.015 of the Town
Code to Increase the Maximum Bingo Award to $500”
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Ordinance 2339 titled “An Ordinance of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
Amending Chapter 3, “Amusements,” of the Town Code regarding bingo award amount
Amending Section 3.50.015 of the Town Code to increase the maximum bingo award to $500.”
BACKGROUND:
At its regular meeting of March 21, 2023, the Town Council held a public hearing to consider
the introduction of Ordinance 2339 to amend Chapter 3, of the Town Code “Amusements,”
regarding bingo award amount amending Section 3.50.015 to increase the maximum bingo
award to $500. The Town Council voted 5-0 to approve the introduction of Ordinance 2239.
This ordinance will become effective 30 days after adoption.
CONCLUSION:
Staff recommends the Town Council adopt Ordinance 2339 titled “An Ordinance of the Town
Council of the Town of Los Gatos Amending Chapter 3, “Amusements,” of the Town Code
regarding bingo award amount amending Section 3.50.015 of the Town Code to increase the
maximum bingo award to $500.”

COORDINATION:
The Town Attorney’s Office and Town Manager’s Office coordinated this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Nominal publication costs are associated with adopting the Ordinance to meet the requirement
of Government Code 36933, and they will be absorbed within the current Fiscal Year (FY)
2022/23 Operating Budget. Costs for codification of the Ordinance into the Municipal Code are
also included in the current budget.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
Because the proposed Ordinance will not result in a change in the physical environment, its
adoption is not a project defined under the California Environmental Quality Act and no further
action is required (Public Resources Code Section 21065).
