RECOMMENDATION:
1. Adopt the attached ordinance which was introduced at the Town Council meeting of January 3,
1994 (reading was waived at that time).
2. Instruct the Clerk to public the ordinance 15 days after adoption.

THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I
Section 29.20.280 is amended to read as follows:
Section 29.20.280. Hearing by Council.
The appeal shall be heard by the Council within fifty-six (56) days after the date of
the hearing at which the final decision by the Planning Commission was made. The Council
may continue from time to time any hearing held by it.
SECTION II
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos on , 1994 and adopted by the following vote as

VERBAL COMMUNICATION:
Earthquake Relief -
Barbra Toren, 15933 Orange Blossom, requested Council's consideration and concern for the
earthquake victims in Southern California and the suggestion that our Town adopt an area in
need of relief. She offered to help coordinate the effort.
SB 172 Funds -
Tim Morgan, representing the POA of Los Gatos, thanked Council for its commitment to public
safety with the hiring of four police officers and one community service officer with the
designated SB 172 funds.
HEARINGS
SIGNS/SPECIAL EVENTS/BANNERS/HEARING (15.46)
Mayor Attaway stated that this was the time and place duly noted for public hearing to consider
introducing ordinance amending the Town Code to modify regulations for display of signs on
private property for activities under a special events permit, zoning ordinance amendment A-
92-5A. This matter has been expanded to include permits for event signs and will therefore
require referral to the' Planning Commission for a report before the Council can introduce the
ordinance.
The following people from the audience spoke to this issue:
Albert Danell, representing the Chamber of Commerce, noted that the thought of the Sign
Committee had been that one of the three signs would be displayed at Los Gatos Blvd. He
mentioned the supervision of signs by the Chamber.
