SUBJECT: REVIEW OF CURRENT BANNER PROGRAM AND PRO i DIRECTION
FOR IMPROVEMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
The attachment included with the staff report on this item was intended to provide the Council with
a list of all issues that may be discussed with the proposed Banner Working Group. The purpose of
this item is to give Council an opportunity to provide input or direction before staff undertakes this
effort with a Working Group. The Council may choose to modify or delete any of the items that are
listed. However, staff needs direction on two key issues as listed below:
1. Banner Working Group: Should the Group be composed of two members each from the
Beautification Committee, Chamber of Commerce, Arts Commission and Town staff, with
Town Staff chairing the Group? The purpose of the Working Group is to provide
recommendations to Council on the Downtown Banner Program including location, size,
design, content and mounting hardware.
2. Focus Areas: Should the Working Group focus on the Downtown area only at this time?
Should other areas such as Los Gatos Boulevard to be considered at a later date? Are there
any parameters that Council would like to set at this time?
