W HEREAS; the Town of Los Gatos' Continuing efforts to addreis the critical
issues of safety, energy efficiency, waterconservation, and sustainability in the built
environment that affect our -citizens, both in everyday lit e and, in time of natural disaster,
help to ensure safeand sound community structures; and
W HEREAS; building safety is achieved through the devotion of many public and
private sector professionals, building safety and fire prevention officials, architects,
engineers, builders, laborers, and: others in the -Construction industry who work to ensure
the safe and efficient construction of buildings; and
WHEREAS, National Building Safety Month 2021 encourages Los Gatans to be
aware of the importance of: building safety; green: and sustainable buildings; pool, spa,
and, hot tub safety; and new technologies in the construction industry and recognizes that
countless lives have been saved clue to ;the implementation of safety standards by local
and, state agencies; and
W HEREAS, in observance of Building Safety Month, Los Gatans are asked to
consider projects to itprowve building safety and sustainability at home and in their
community, and to acknowledge the essential service provided to all of us by our local
building department and construction, professionals in protecting lives and property.

of Los Gatos and call upon all citizens to renew -their commitment to building safety
efforts.
