CONSIDER INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE AMENDING TOWN CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE (DIVISION 6 OF ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 4) TO UPDATE PLANNING DEPARTMENT CLASSIFICATIONS RECOMMENDATION: 1. Direct Clerk to read the title of the proposed ordinance. 2. Waive further reading of the ordinance. 3. Introduce ordinance. DISCUSSION: In 1995, the Town reclassified the Planner I and II positions to Associate Planner and Assistant Planner. The Town Conflict of Interest Code, found in Sections 2.30.605 and following, specifies the officers and employees that are required to file Statements of Economic Interest under the State Political Reform Act. In order to keep the Town's Code current, it is recommended that the Planning Department listing be amended to change Planner I/II to Associate Planner and Assistant Planner. This ordinance makes no change in the substance of the Conflict of Interest Code, but only renames the two classifications involved. SECTION II Section 2.30.610 is amended to read as follows with regard to PLANNING DEPARTMENT: Sec. 2.30.610. Designated employees. PLANNING DEPARTMENT Planning Director 1 through 13 Senior Planner 1 through 13 Associate Planner 1 through 13 Assistant Planner 1 through 13 Senior Engineering Technician 1 through 13 Code Compliance Officer 1 through 13 SECTION III This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on , 199_ and adopted by the following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on , 199_. This ordinance takes effect 30 days after it is adopted. VASONA HEIGHTS BENEFIT ZONE/LANDSCAPING & LIGHTING DISTRICT RESOLUTION 1996- 7/RESOLUTION 1996-8 (21.14) Motion by Mrs. Lubeck, seconded by Mr. O'Laughlin, that Council adopt Resolution 1996-7 entitled, RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS OF INTENTION TO CREATE AND ANNEX THE VASONA HEIGHTS AREA INTO LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING DISTRICT 1. DESIGNATED AS VASONA HEIGHTS BENEFIT ZONE. AND ESTABLISH A POLICY ON CAPITAL REPLACEMENT AND CREATE A RESERVE ACCOUNT FOR PREEXISTING FUNDS IN OPEN SPACE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 3, Carried by a vote of 4 ayes. Mrs. Benjamin was absent. Motion by Mrs. Lubeck, seconded by Mr. O'Laughlin, that Council adopt Resolution 1996-8 entitled, RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS OF INTENTION TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE DISSOLVING OPEN SPACE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 3.
