MINUTES OF THE GENERAL PLAN UPDATE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
APRIL 23, 2019
The General Plan Update Advisory Committee of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Regular
Meeting on April 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Melanie Hanssen, Vice Chair Kathryn Janoff, Committee Member Jeffrey Barnett,
Committee Member Kendra Burch, Committee Member Jarvis, Committee Member Steven
Piasecki, Committee Member Susan Moore Brown, Committee Member Ryan Rosenberg, and
Committee Member Carol Elias Zolla.
Absent: Vice Mayor Marcia Jensen, Council Member Barbara Spector, and Committee Member
Lee Quintana
Staff present: Laurel Prevetti, Arn Andrews, Joel Paulson, and Jennifer Armer
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Committee Member Burch led the Pledge of Allegiance. The audience was invited to
participate.
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
None.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. Review the existing General Plan Vision and discuss potential modifications
Jennifer Armer, Senior Planner, presented the staff report.
Opened Public Comment.
Jan Schwartz, NUMU Board Member
- Commented that she would like to see NUMU as a more integral part of the Town as it
has great educational programs to offer the public.

Committee discussed the matter and created a draft Vision Statement.
2.Comments Received on the Public Draft 2040 General Plan Background Report
Opened Public Comment.
Phil Koen
-Thanked the committee for their participation and guidance on the General Plan and
suggested the findings in the fiscal stability section in the Background Report be
addressed.
Jak Vannada
-Commented on the salary increases in the Background Report.
Closed Public Comment.
Committee discussed the matter.
3.Comments Received on the General Plan update
Opened Public Comment.
Tom Picraux
-Commented that the element of walkability is missing in the General Plan as it is
critical to small town character, relevant to diversity, and integral to interactions with
small business and safety.

4.Announcements
The next GPAC meeting will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
