SUMMARY MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE GENERAL PLAN
COMMITTEE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS, MAY 8, 2002 HELD IN THE TOWN
COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CIVIC CENTER, 110 EAST MAIN STREET, LOS GATOS,
CALIFORNIA.

The meeting was called to order at 5:40 P.M. by Chair Mike Burke.
ATTENDANCE
General Plan Committee
Members Present: Joe Pirzynski, Phil Micciche, Jo Zientek, Mike Burke, Morris
Trevithick, Sandy Decker, Mark Weiner
Members Excused: None
Staff Present: Bud Lortz, Director of Community Benefit; Joel Paulson,
Assistant Planner; Marty Woodworth, Redevelopment Manager; Tom
Williams, Assistant Community Development Director
Others present: Melanie Freitas
Verbal Communications:
None.
ITEM 1: Housing Element update:
· Presentation by Melanie Shaffer Freitas, housing consultant
· Discussion
· Appoint one additional GPC member to sub-committee
Melanie Freitas made a presentation updating the Committee on the status of the
Housing Element update.
The Committee then discussed the Housing Element update with Staff and the housing
consultant and inquired about affordable housing issues.
The Committee appointed Sandy Decker to the Housing Element sub-committee by
consensus.
ITEM 2: Election of new Committee Vice-Chair
Joe Pirzynski made a motion to elect Phil Micciche as Vice-Chair. The motion
was seconded by Sandy Decker and passed 6-0.
ITEM 3: Approval of Minutes
Joe Pirzynski made a motion to approve the minutes of April 24, 2002 as submitted.
The motion was seconded by Morris Trevithick and passed 7-0.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Burke. The next regular meeting
of the General Plan Committee will be on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at 5:30 pm.
