Thank you, Judy Whitten Dear Historic Preservation Committee, We are the owners at 231 Almendra Avenue, and we’d like to express our concern about the design plans for the ADU at 221 Almendra Avenue. We are in favor of the new house that is being built at 221 Almendra and are happy to see the work beginning. We think the new house will enhance the property and our neighborhood. We are also fine with the plans for the garage. However, the current plans for the ADU show large windows that look directly into the backyard, master bedroom, and living room/kitchen area of 227 Almendra Ave and into our backyard, master bedroom & bathroom, another bedroom, and balcony. These windows are on the front and side of the ADU facing our homes. As the ADU will be built only five feet from our neighbor’s fence, the current design will severely impinge on their privacy and will also impinge on our privacy. This will damage the value of both our properties moving forward. We’d like to request a design change that doesn’t have windows looking down on our property or our neighbors. Sincerely, Judy Whitten and Mitch Adler ATTACHMENT 5 This Page Intentionally Left Blank
