Considerations
The primary structure that was constructed prior to 1941 has no historic significance or
architectural merit.
1. The primary structure that was constructed prior to 1941 has no historic significance
or architectural merit.
2. The building is not associated with any events that have made a significant
contribution to the Town.
3. No significant persons are associated with the site.
4. There are no distinctive characteristics of type, period or method of construction or
representation of work of a master; and/or the integrity has been compromised
such that the structure no longer has the potential to convey significance.
5. The structure does not yield information to Town history.

To Whom It May Concern:
I purchased the property in June 2014 and would like to request the Committee to
kindly review the following information we gathered the town, the county and the
L os Gatos library. The objective is to have the property removed from pre-1941
historical inventory.
Key Justifications:
• The P arcel is NOT l ocate d a t Los Gatos t own historica l district and no
records in the historical booklet. Nearby home are mixed style homes with
two stories.
• L oss of Orig in a l H o use C ha racteristics a nd S qua re F ootage Inc rease as
it's s ig nifica ntly alte red s in ce 1923 .
o Ho use fro nt door directi on: Original house front door was facing
-Ferris Ave (Exhibit Photo A). At the time ofmy purchase, the house
front door is facing Spencer Ave with a new entrance (E xhibit Photo
B)
o Square footage increase: Original house square footage was 995 sf
and at the time ofmy purchase date is 1287 sf. (Exhibit Photo C from
Santa Clara County Assessor's Office)
o Incons iste nt E xte rior Sid in g a nd F inis h: At the time of purchase, it
already had a mixture of horizontal wood sidings and smear texture
stucco. (Exhibit Photo D)
• P as t renov atio n proj ects w ere p ermitted . With the due diligence into L os
Gatos Town LaserFiche and country records, all remodeling was done with
permits. One particularly worth of noting is the previous homeowner Ms.
Peggy O 'Neil added a bay window on the side of the house for her bathroom
remodel (Exhibit Photo E ) which disrupted the exterior look even further.
