COMMITTEE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS FOR AUGUST 24, 2016 HELD IN THE
TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 110 E MAIN STREET, LOS GATOS, CALIFORNIA.

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M. by Chair Bob Cowan.

1. Approval of Minutes – July 27, 2016
MOTION: Tom O’Donnell moved to approve the minutes of July 27, 2016. The motion was
seconded by Michael Kane.
VOTE: Motion passes 5-0.
2. 125 Tait Avenue
Requesting approval for a remodel and construction of an approximately 70
square-foot addition at the rear of an existing single-family residence in the
Almond Grove Historic District on property zoned R-1D:LHP. APN 510-18-033.
PROPERTY OWNER: Brian and Casey Quigley
APPLICANT: Jay Plett
PROJECT PLANNER: Sally Zarnowitz
MOTION: Michael Kane moved to approve the request with a recommendation to restore the
front porch to match the historic compatibility of the district. The motion was
seconded by Kathryn Janoff.
VOTE: Motion passes 5-0.

Requesting approval for modifications to the front elevation of a pre-1941
structure on property zoned R-1:8. APN 529-35-005.
PROPERTY OWNER/APPLICANT: Ann Kownacki
PROJECT PLANNER: Erin Walters
MOTION: Len Pacheco moved to recommend approval of the request to the Community
Development Director. The motion was seconded by Kathryn Janoff.
VOTE: Motion passes 5-0.
4. 112 Los Gatos Boulevard
Building Permit B15-0874
Requesting approval for modifications to the front elevation of a structure listed
on the Historic Resources Inventory (HRI) on property zoned R-1D. APN 532-
29-101.
PROPERTY OWNER: Randolph Ditzler
APPLICANT: David P. Zicovich
PROJECT PLANNER: Sally Zarnowitz
MOTION: Len Pacheco moved to recommend approval of the request with the following
modifications: the stone base should be craftsman style and wrapped around the
porch; match the attic vent detail under the gable ends; and eliminate the vertical
siding. The motion was seconded by Kathryn Janoff.
VOTE: Motion passes 5-0.
5. 16743 Shannon Road
Requesting removal of an existing pre-1941 single-family residence from the
Historic Resources Inventory to construct a new single-family residence on
property zoned R-1:8. APN 523-06-007.
PROPERTY OWNER: Gary and Tracy A. Jamieson
APPLICANT: Jay Plett
PROJECT PLANNER: Sally Zarnowitz
MOTION: Kathryn Janoff moved to approve approved the removal of the single-family
residence from the Historic Resources Inventory with the recommendation that
any modifications to the property stay compatible with the surrounding
neighborhood. The motion was seconded by Tom O’Donnell.
