MINUTES OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
MARCH 27, 2019
The Historic Preservation Committee of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Regular Meeting on
March 27, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.

Present: Chair Matthew Hudes, Vice Chair Robert Cowan, Committee Member Nancy Derham,
Committee Member Thomas O’Donnell
Absent: Leonard Pacheco

1. Approval of Minutes – February 27, 2019
MOTION: Motion by Committee Member Thomas O’Donnell to approve the
consent calendar. Seconded by Vice Chair Robert Cowan.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously. 4-0-1, Committee Member Leonard
Pacheco absent.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
2. 223 Massol Avenue
Architecture and Site Application S-19-013
Requesting approval for technical demolition of an existing non-contributing single-
family residence and construction of a new single-family residence on property in the
Almond Grove Historic District zoned R-1D:LHP. APN 510-16-020.
PROPERTY OWNER: Vladimir Kanevsky

Committee Member Thomas O’Donnell recused himself from this item.

MOTION: Motion by Vice Chair Robert Cowan to recommend for approval as
proposed. Seconded by Committee Member Nancy Derham.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously. 3-0-2, Committee Member Leonard
Pacheco absent, Committee Member Thomas O’Donnell recused.
3. 14300 Lora Drive
Requesting approval to remove a pre-1941 property from the Historic Resources
Inventory for property zoned R-1:8. APN 409-15-028.
PROPERTY OWNERS/APPLICANTS: Saad and Mariam Hasan
PROJECT PLANNER: Sean Mullin
Sean Mullin, Associate Planner, explained that the request for demolition was approved in 2011
and no further action from the Committee is required.
4. 79 Reservoir Road
Requesting approval to remove a pre-1941 property from the Historic Resources
Inventory for property zoned R-1:20. APN 529-33-019.
PROPERTY OWNER: Donald Prolo
PROJECT PLANNER: Sally Zarnowitz
Sally Zarnowitz, Planning Manager, presented the staff report.
Joanne Benchman presented the proposed project on behalf of the Applicant.
Opened the Public Comment.
James Soderberg would like to see the use of real wood siding.
Closed the Public Comment.
Committee members discussed the matter.
MOTION: Motion by Vice Chair Robert Cowan to continue to April 24, 2019 with
more information. Seconded by Chair Matthew Hudes.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously. 4-0-1, Committee Member Leonard
