ITEM 3. OTHER BUSINESS
a. 146 Tait Avenue- The Committee discussed preliminary plans to add onto a
pre-1941 residence. The Committee stated that a second story might work
provided the addition was setback from the front of the house and was
compatible with the neighborhood. The Committee requested the applicant to
look at a single story addition as an alternative. Concern expressed about
chimney location and recommended the use of a boxed bay window.
b. Pre-1941 Design Guidelines - Committee requested staff to look at applying for
grant to update guidelines. Historical Architect, Leslie Dill, may be interested
in assisting the Town to prepare the grant.
c. Certified Local Government - The Committee encouraged that the Town’s CLG
status be maintained. The Committee requested that Town Council consider at
their next retreat the following items:
* Change the definition of an historic structure from pre-1941 to pre-1951.
* Revisit making the Glen Ridge area an historic district.
d. Chair appointments- The Committee appointed Pacheco as Chair and Burnett as
Vice-Chair.
