The meeting was called to order at 10:02 a.m. by Chair Machado. ATTENDANCE Members Present: Erin Walters, Associate Planner Tracy Staiger, Fire Department Michael Machado, Building Official Mike Weisz, Associate Civil Engineer PUBLIC HEARINGS ITEM 1: 50 University A venue, Suite 260 Minor Architecture and Site Application S-16-0 17 Requesting approval for exterior modifications to a hi storic commercial building (California Cafe space) on property zoned C-2:LHP:PD. APN 529-02-044. PROPERTY OWNER: Sri Old Town LLC APPLICANT: Tecta Associates PROJECT PLANNER: Erin Walters 1. Chair Machado opened the public hearing. 2. Staff gave report on propo sed project. 3. Applicant was introduced. 4. Members of the public were not present. 5 . Public hearing closed. 6. Tracy Staiger moved to approve the application subject to the conditions presented with the following findings and considerations: FINDINGS R equiredfindingsfor CEQA: • The project is categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15301 of the State Environmental Guidelines as adopted by the Town in that the project consists of exterior modifications to an existing commercial building that will not be increas ing in size. Required finding for the Redevelopment Plan for the Central Los Gatos Redevelopment Project Area: DRC Minutes April 12 ,2016 Page 2 • The proposed project is consistent with the Redevelopment Plan for the Central Los Gatos Redevelopment Project Area (Section IV.B) in that the subject property is designated for commercial use and the approved restaurant use is within that category. Commercial Design Guidelines: • The exterior modifications are consistent with applicable provisions of the Commercial Design Guidelines and the recommendations of the Historic Preservation Committee have been incorporated into the plans. CONSIDERATIONS: Considerations in review of Architecture & Site applications: • As required by Section 29.20.150 of the Town Code, the considerations in review of an architecture and site application were all made in reviewing this project. The proposed renovations will upgrade the building and complement surrounding buildings. 7. Erin Walters seconded, motion passed unanimously. 8. Appeal rights were cited. OTHER BUSINESS NONE ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 10:07 a .m.
