SUMMARY MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS FOR AUGUST 7, 2001 HELD IN THE TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CIVIC
CENTER, 110 EAST MAIN STREET, LOS GATOS, CALIFORNIA.

The meeting was called to order at 9:05A.M. by Acting Chair Suzanne Davis.
ATTENDANCE
Members Present:
Suzanne Davis, Associate Planner
Tim Boyer, Parks and Forestry Division
Trish Duarte, Senior Engineering Technician
Julie Linney, Fire Department
Verbal Communications:
Ray Davis said the DRC is not doing an adequate job of directing applicants who
have been sent back to the DRC by the Town Council or Planning Commission.
ITEM 1: 285 Wooded View Drive
Architecture and Site Application S-99-13
Requesting approval to construct a new single family residence on property zoned
HR-2 1/2.
PROPERTY OWNER/APPLICANT: Vino Malhotra
Deficiencies were noted by Fire, Parks, Engineering and Planning. The application
is on the August 22, 2001 Planning Commission agenda, so plans will need to be
revised quickly. The applicant was encouraged to meet independently with the
various departments before submitting the revised plans and reductions.
Ray Davis said the proposed residence is a square box, is too large, and not an
appropriate style for the hillside. He believes that the applicant has not met
the direction of the Town Council.
Bernadette Chadwick, 220 Wooded View Drive, said the new design is much better
than the previous one. She would like to see tree #27 saved if at all possible.
ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 9:30 A.M. The next regularly scheduled meeting
of the Development Review Committee is Tuesday, August 14,
2001.
