Mike,
I assume that if this issueis something the town council wishes to
consider, the council will provide opportunities for broad input and
debate from Los Gatos residents. Not all of the religious community
supports a moratorium of capital punishment. The opportunity for
discussion with the council should be fair, deliberate, and
well -publicized. Thanks.
Galen

Subject: IMPORTANT PUBLIC HEARING ON THE DEATH PENALTY
Hello!
I hope you are having a great week.
On Monday, October 3, 2005 at 7 pm, the Los Gatos Town Council will meet
and discuss the issue of passing a resolution in support of a moratorium
for the death penaty. The meeting will be held at the Council Chambers,
located at 110 East Main Street.
We advccate a moratorium to the Death Penalty due to the fact that it
costs much more than the alternative of life imprisonment without
possibility of parole, thus impacting budgets for public safety and
education, and the fact that innocent persons have been executed.
Please note that you or your friends and family are invited to attend,
even if you are not Los Gatos resdents. Almost all of the speakers will
be LG residents, but we need as many people in the audience as possible
to show support for this effort.
THUS, CAN WE COUNT ON YOUR SUPPORT AT THIS MEETING? If you are not able
to attend, can you please send me a name of someone in your organization
that might be able to represent you or your organization? Tell all your
friends!
WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AS MANY PEOPLE SHOW UP AT THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS AS
WE CAN.
Thanks so much! I appreciate your help in advance.
Sincerely,
Jenny Haruyama - RE: FW: IMPORTANT PUBLIC HEARING ON THE DEATH PENALTY Page 3
