Response: Indirectly, yes. The review was done to provide information for a potential streetscape project where greater amounts of parking would be impacted. The parking consultant looked at the impact of removing parking along Main Street from the Hwy 17 bridge to Lyndon Avenue and along North Santa Cruz Avenue from Main Street to Highway 9. The analysis was done by incrementally assuming parking would be removed from a block and identifying where those vehicles could be accommodated off -street. The consultant’s analysis shows that with removal of all of the on-street parking, parking occupancy reaches 85% or greater in all lots. The parklet program as currently implemented would eliminate a fraction of that amount of parking. Please note that staff has not yet reviewed this analysis and related assumptions in detail, which is why it has not been included in the report. In addition, the results from the second survey are provided as Attachment 3. This survey was sent to gather input on recommendations and to alert residents of the upcoming topic at the Town Council meeting. Prior to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, the attached (Attachment 4) public comment was received.
