RESOLVED, THAT THE BOARYOF
Trustees of the Town of Los Gatos
deem it to be required by the public in-
terest and convenience and do hereby
order the following street work to be done
according to the plans and specifications
therefor adopted Feb. 6, 1893, and now
on file in the office of the Town Clerk,
to -wit: That Hotel street from the west to
the east end thereof, Broadway from the
west to the east end thereof, Santa Cruz
avenue from the intersection of the south
line of Broadway prolonged, to Main
street, Santa Cruz avenue from the inter-
section of the north line of land of Can-
nery prolonged, to Main street, School
street from the intersection of the south
line of School lot to Main street and Main
street from the east end of Hotel street to
the east line of land of J. Gist prolonged,

less than ten per cent of the aggregate of
the proposal. He is also directed to pub-
lisb in the Loa GATOS WEEKLY NEws, a
weekly newspaper published and circu-
lated in said Town, hereby designated
for that purpose, both a copy of this reso-
lution, and also, after posting the notice
inviting sealed propasals for doing the
work ordered, his notice of such .posting,
each for two days.

That the following named portions of
the following named streets and atreet-
crossings and intersections be improved

terials and dimensions hereinafter de-
scribed with man -boles and covers, and
Rush tanks, according to plans and speci-
fications prepared by Chas, H. Pieper,
City Engineer, to -wit:

RESOLVED THAT THE PUBLIC IN-
terest and convenience require the
work herein described and the Board of
Trustees of the Town of Los Gatos hereby
orders the following street work tobe
done according to the specifications
therefor, adopted by said Board by Reso-
lution of this date, to -wit:
That Broadway street from the west
line of Santa Cruz avenue to the east line
of Lingley's Lane, prolonged across the
same, be improved to the official grade as
follows, to -wit:
Said improvement to consist of excavat-
ing the roadway thereof to a suitable sub -
grade, grading, graveling and also curbing
and guttering the same on both sides
thereof with redwood plank —the curb to
be of 3x12 plank and the gutter to be of
2x12 plank and to be constructed except
where already laid.
The Clerk of this Board is hereby di-
rected to publish this Resolution by two
insertions and notice of said work, in-
viting sealed proposals or bids for -doing
the work and referring to the specifica.
tions posted or on filed, also by two in-
sertions, both in THE Los GATos NEws, a
weekly newspaper published and circu-
lated in said Town, hereby designated
for that purpose. Said notice Shall re-
quire a certified check or a bond, either,
as prescribed by law, and for an amount
not less than ten per cent of the aggre-
gate of the proposal. He is also directed
to post said notice with specifications
conspicuously for five days on or near the
Council Chamber door.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY I
I The Board of Trustees of the Town 7
of Los Gatos, that a general municipal
election will be held in said town on the
2nd Monday in April, to -wit: On the,
13th day of April, 1896, for the election
of the following town officers:
First —One member of the Board of
Trustees who shall bold office for tfic
term of four years.
Second —One member of the Board of
Trustees who shall bold office for the
term of four years.
Third —A Clerk, who shall ,be ex-
i� otficio Assessor, who shall hold office for
the term of two years.
Fourth —A Treasurer who shall hold
office for the term of two years.
Fifth —A Marshal, who shall be ex-
officio Street Superintendent and eg-
offlcioTax Collector, whoshallhold office
for the term of two years.
The polling places for said election for
voting precint No. 1 shall be in the old
Town Hall under Commercial Bank,
and for voting precinct No. 2 in the Town
Hall on East Main street in the town of
Los Gatos, andthe following electors are
hereby appointed to constitute the Board

and subscribe an oath to faithfully per.
form the duties imposed upen him by
law.
If one or more members of said Board
Of Election shall fail to attend at the
Opening of the polls on the morning of
the election, the electors of the town
Present at the hour may supply the place
of any or all absent members.
The polls shall be open at sunrise of
the morning of the day of election, and
keep open until 5 "clock on the after-
' noon of the same day, whsn the polls
shall be closed.
When the polls are closed, the said
Board shall proceed to canvass theyotes,
and when the same is completed shall i
seal up and direct to the Clerk of said
town the register upon which one of the
Judges marked the word "yoted,o as the
ballots were received, all certificates of
registation received by it, one of the lists
Of the persons challenged, one copy of
the lists of voters and one of the tally
lists and lists attached thereto, and cause
the same to be delivered to said Town
Clerk.
. In all other respects said election shall
be held in accordance with the general
election law of the State.

RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
Trustees of the Town of Los Gatos,
State of California, that the public in-
set and conventenca require that the
said Board of Trustees of said Town, here-
by order to be done the work of opening i
and extending Bayview avenue, in said
Town, • through the Catholic church

by the Board of Trustees of satd Town,on I the 3rd day of February, 1896.
Resolved that, subject to removal by.
said Board of Trustees at any time for
cause, George R. Emmerson, B. P. Shu-
ler and C. C. Lint, be and they are here-
by appointed Commissioners to a®sefs
the benefits and damages, and have gen.
eral supervision of said work until the
completion tbereof, in compliance with
an act of the Legislature of the State of
California, approved March fi, 1889, and
entitled: "An act to provide for laying out,
opening, extending, widening, straight-
ening or closing up, in whole or in part,
any street, square, lane, alley, court or
place within municipalities, and to con-
demn and acquire any and all land and
property. necessary or convenient for that
purpose." For their services, said com-
missioners will receive as compensation
the sum of $20 each fn full for all ser-
vices rendered, as each Commiseiomns.
Said Commissiouers shall report their
progress in said work to this council as
the work progresses. Before proceeding
with the performances of their duties,
each of said Commissioners shall file
with the Clerk of thip Board of Trustees,
an affidavit and bond to the State cf
California in the penal sum of Gve thous-
and dollars (0000), to faithfully perform
the duties of his office in the manner and
form required by law.
