TOWN COUNCIL/PARKING AUTHORITY
The Town Council/Parking Authority of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers of the
Town Hall, 110 East Main Street, at 7:00 P.M., Monday, April 29, 1996, in study session.
ATTENDANCE
Present:Mayor Randy Attaway, Joanne Benjamin, Linda Lubeck,
Patrick O'Laughlin, Town Manager David Knapp and members of the public.
CALL TO ORDER AND PUBLIC COMMENT
Several members of the audience made public comment concerning parking issues in the downtown
area.
DISCUSSIONS
The Town Council/Parking Authority discussed the Downtown Parking Improvement Plan. Among
the concepts considered were the following: Need for new parking spaces; Desirability of new
parking structure; Appropriate location of considered structure; Park and Ride Lot improvements and
generated uses; In-Lieu parking options; Computerized pay-on-foot option to parking meters;
Parking credits for Town residents; Short term and long term parking areas designated; Private
development of new parking spaces encouraged; Downtown Specific Plan and Zoning Ordinance
amendments.
Consensus to return this item to Council June 17th, after the budget hearings.
