TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council/Parking Authority of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Lobby of the Council
Chambers of the Town Hall, 110 East Main Street, at 6:15 p.m., Monday, August 14, 1995, in
adjourned regular session.
ROLL CALL
Present:Randy Attaway, Joanne Benjamin,
Linda Lubeck and Vice Mayor Steven Blanton.
Absent:Patrick O'Laughlin
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all those in attendance.
CLOSED SESSION REPORT
Town Attorney, Larry Anderson, announced that Council had met in Closed Session prior to this
evening's meeting pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), to discuss Pending Litigation
regarding Green Valley Disposal Company, Inc v. Town of Los Gatos, Santa Clara County Superior
Court Action CV-751534. Attorney reported present status and Council directed how to proceed from
this point forward.
UNIVERSITY AVE 50/OLD TOWN/LOT 6/EIR/KREINES & KREINES
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT/RESOLUTION 1995-111 (01.09)
The following people addressed Council on this matter.
Mr. Ted Kreines, of Kreines & Kreines, 58 Paseo Mirasol, Tiburon, discussed the 3-D simulations
that are possible for preparing reference material for the Project EIR.
Ed Storm, 104 Park Center Plaza, San Jose, spoke of costs and also the need to include the
community in the formulation of plans.
Motion by Mrs. Benjamin, seconded by Mr. Attaway, that Council adopt Resolution 1995-111
entitled, RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT TO
PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
AT 50 UNIVERSITY AVENUE, which accepts non-interest bearing deposit of $95,129 from the Old
Town applicant for completion of Project EIR without 3-D simulation but includes the request for at
least one 3-D representation. This motion also includes the rate of $90.00 per hour for any additional
meetings the contractor may be required to attend. Carried by a vote of 4 ayes. Mr. O'Laughlin
absent.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Mrs. Lubeck, seconded by Mrs. Benjamin, that Council adjourn this evening's meeting at
7:00 p.m. Carried unanimously.
