REPORT RE EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mayor Siemens reported on the Executive Session held prior to the Council meeting,
stating Council had discussed the following matters:
1. Status of Villa Vasona litigation.
2. Status of Novitiate Park acquisition litigation.
CHANGE OF ELECTION DATE FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Mr. Ventura moved for adoption of Ordinance No. 1524 entitled, AN ORDINANCE OF
THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS CHANGING THE DATE OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTIONS FROM THE SECOND TUESDAY IN APRIL TO THE SAME DAY AS THE
LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTION. Mayor Siemens seconded. Carried by a vote
of three ayes. Mrs. Rasmussen voting no. Discussion was held regarding language to
be used in the mail notification to all registered voters in Los Gatos. Draft of said
notification to be brought to Council for review at their February 1, 1982 meeting.
REQUEST RE SPRING BALLET
Mayor Siemens stated this request had been continued from the meeting of January 4,
1982, to allow Lucille Hogan, Chairwoman of the Cultural Resource Commission, to
speak on this request. Mrs. Hogan stated that due to lack of available facilities in Los
Gatos, she was here to request Council's permission to perform the Spring Ballet for
children at West Valley College thereby servicing both Los Gatos and Saratoga. It was
consensus of Council that due to Town's contribution to the Cultural Resources
Commission for this they felt ballet should be performed in Los Gatos or if held in
Saratoga, then Saratoga should contribute half of the money for the performance. Mrs.
Hogan asked that no final decision be made until she further explores the possibility of
the use of Fisher or Daves Avenue Schools. After further discussion, Mr. Ferrito moved
that Council indicate its willingness to contribute $500.00, toward the ballet being held in
Saratoga contingent on Saratoga matching that amount. Mr. Ventura seconded.
unanimously carried.

Mayor Siemens stated this was the time and place scheduled for interviews of
applicants for the vacancy on the Planning Commission. Applicants are Robert Barrow,
Donald L. Crum, Terrence Daily, Kathryn Morgan, Anne Patrus and Mildred Voelker.
Nominated for the position were Terrence Daily, Mildred Voelker, Ann Patrus and
Kathryn Morgan. Voting was held and Terrence Daily received the majority vote, and
was appointed as Planning Commissioner to fill the unexpired term of Bradley Clifford.
After said appointment Council directed the Town Clerk to do necessary advertising to
notice the forth coming vacancy on the Youth Advisory Commission.
