Ord 1531-AMENDING THE TOWN ZONING ORDINANCE TO (1) DEFINE "CONVENIENCE MARKET" AND (2) ADD A CONVENIENCE MARKET AS A CONDITIONAL USE IN THE C-1, C-2 AND CH ZONESORDINANCE NO. 1531
ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TOWN ZONING ORDINANCE TO (1) DEFINE
"CONVENIENCE MARKET" AND (2) ADD A CONVENIENCE MARKET AS A
CONDITIONAL USE IN THE C -1, C -2 AND CH ZONES
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 2.00.152 is added to the Zoning Ordinance to read as follows:
"SEC. 2.00.152: CONVENIENCE MARKET
A convenience market is an activity that includes the retail sale of food,
beverages, and small personal convenience items, primarily for off - premises
consumption and typically found in establishments with long or late hours of
operation and in a relatively small building; but excluding delicatessens and other
specialty food shops and also excluding establishments which have a sizeable
assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh -cut meat."
SECTION 2.
Section 5.20.205 -1 -p is added to read as follows:
"p. Convenience market (to be permitted in the C -1, C -2 and CH
zones)."
SECTION 3.
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted. Within 15
days after this ordinance is adopted, the Town Clerk shall cause it to be published
once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the Town.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Los Gatos on April 5 , 1982, and adopted
by the following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a adjourned regular
meeting of the Town Council on April 20 , 1982.
