Monica,
I hear Derek Tam and Brian Edwards are working on opening up a Tap room called Hapa's in Los Gatos. These are good
individuals with hearts of gold, they grew up and live here in Los Gatos. As a current business owner in Los Gatos and
resident, I for one am in big favor for this venture. I have no doubt that they will give to community in a positive way and
run a great business that Los Gatos will be proud of. If you need any info on these two, let me know good or bad.
Thank you for you time,
Brian Chiala, Los Gatos Meats & Smoke House

Hapas Brewing Company moving into downtown Los Gatos. Our town is in need of more places that will bring friends
and family together in a fun and casual atmosphere. Hapa will be huge addition to our town. We need to bring the life
back to Los Gatos. Our merchants need it and so does our community. We have pushed people away with high end
resturants and bars. We need to build up our community with places like Hapa. I also know the owners will "give
back" and make donations etc to our schools and local events.

Subject: New Brewing Company Proposal 114 S. Santa Cruz Avenue
Dear Los Gatos Town Council Members,
I am reaching out with concern about the proposal for outdoor seating and music at 114 S. Santa Cruz Avenue.
As we know from our experience with the unsanctioned outdoor music at the Toll House, loud music can
negatively impact the quality of our life on Broadway.
I am also concerned about the impact on parking and any potential negative impact to Rural Supply -- a
treasured neighbor resource -- where I have shopped for over 40 years.
There are, I understand, a number of vacant locations in heart of the shopping and entertainment district where
this establishment might be more appropriately located.
Thanks as always for keeping the interests of the neighborhood in mind.
Warm regards,
Dixie Fisher

To: Town Council
Hello
My name is Mike Verga, I reside at 46 Broadway Ave Los Gatos.
On January 7th, I wrote a letter in support of HAPAs Brew Pub opening up at 1145 Santa Cruz Ave. I unfortunatly have to
rescind my support.
This has nothing to do with either Derek or Brian, the founders of HAPAs, as I find them both to be fine young men.
Unfortunately, after further exploring this endeavor, I find that the location they have selected would be unacceptable
and unworkable in the neighborhood.
The closest neighbors, at 25 (a multi unit residential building) and 29 (single family residence) Broadway would be
severely negativly impacted by this brew pub and the owners expressed that to Derek and Brian last night at the
community meeting Brian and Derek hosted.
Property values, noise, parking issues, etc..would severely negatively impact 25 and 29 Broadway along with other close
by residences on Broadway.
Please consider these issues when you decide on this project.
I really see no possible way that HAPAs could adhere to the Los Gatos noise ordinance, when the only thing seperating
HAPAs outdoor seating and the residents at 25 and 29 Broadway is a 6 foot high common fence.
HAPAs would literally be in their backyard.
Thank You
Mike and Gillian Verga
46 Broadway Ave Los Gatos.
I hope HAPAs can find a more acceptable location IN Los Gatos.

My name is JJ Taughinbaugh and I am a local Commercial Real Estate Agent and
long-time resident of Los Gatos. I have become a local expert of Los Gatos as I have
sold over ten commercial buildings in Los Gatos over the past ten years. One of the
buildings that I sold was located at 114 S. Santa Cruz Ave.. They are currently
looking to lease the space to a tenant : Hapas Brewing Company. Hapas was started
by two bay area locals and currently has a location in Willow Glen and would like to
further their endeavors in Los Gatos.
I am writing this letter in support of the town approving Hapas Brewing Compnay
as a tenant. I believe that this establishment will attract a lot of foot traffic and
vibrancy to the town. We as a town are in need of new concepts that will attract
more people as we look toward the future and the competition that will come from
the North 40 Development.
As you are aware, the aforementioned site has been vacant for a number of years
and poses a liability not only to the owner but to the town as well. Filling this space
with a place for people to gather will not only provide regeneration to the town but
also provide needed support for the town's retail as we have lost such well
established sites such as CB Hannegans and The Los Gatos Bar and Grill.
I ask that you consider my recommendation in support of Hapas.
Sincerely,
JJ Taughinbaugh
