RESOLUTION NO.
OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION, AND DIRECTING
MAILING NOTICES IN SUMMARY PROCEF,DINGS, UNDER
DIVISION 4 OF THE STREETS AND HIGIEWAYS CODE.
EUCLID AVENUE
RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos,
Santa Clara County, California, that the public interest and
convenience require and that it is the intention of this Council
to acquire and construct certain improvements in and for said
Town, the general nature, location and extent of which are as
follows:
1. That Euclid Avenue for its entire length and
Jones Road.between Euclid Avenue and College Avenue, in-
cluding intersections, be improved by grading and constructing
therein water -bound rock macadam base pavement with asphalt
concrete wearing surface, cement concrete monolithic rolled
curbs and gutters, and storm drain pipes and standard .
catch basins, vitrified clay pipe sewer mains, wye branches
and house laterals and standard manholes complete, in accor-
dance with standard plans and specifications of said Town
on file in the office of its Town Clerk.
2. The cost of said work after contributions, will be
assessed upon a district benefited, the exterior boundaries of
which are the coterminous exterior boundary of the composite
of land abutting on said proposed improvements, a map of which
Is on file in the office of the Town Clerk.
3. That the Town will contribute the costs of storm
drainage facilities and interceptor sewers, and a pro rata portion
of the cost of the paving work in the percentage that the moneys
to be received from gas tax funds for paving work to be done on
Loma Alta Avenue, Mariposa Avenue and University Avenue, bears
to the total cost of paving work to be done on said streets and
also on Euclid Avenue, Edelen Avenue, Bentley Avenue, Wraight
Avenue, Bird Avenue, Chester Street, Woodland Avenue, Saratoga
Avenue and Victory Lane.
4. Said acquisition and improvements will be had under
proceedings to be taken by the Town pursuant to the Municipal
Improvement Act of 1913 and that bonds will be issued upon the
unpaid assessments pursuant to the Improvement Bond Act of 1915,
to bear interest at a rate of not to exceed six per cent (69)
per annum and mature in ten (10) equal annual series.
5. That the probable assessment for the costs and expenses
of the acquisitions and constructions will not exceed the limi-
tation set up in Division 4 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
6. That the Town Clerk of this Town is hereby directed
to mail prepaid postcards giving notice of the findings and
proposed action of this Council in relation thereto, as provided
in Part 7 of Division 4 of said Code.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly adopted by the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day
of March, 19+8, by the following vote:
