Subject: A Mills Act Program for Los Gatos
Hi Sally -
This email is a follow-up to our telephone conversation late last month. I had recently learned of the existence
of Saratoga's Mills Act program. Upon further research I discovered that Monte Sereno, Campbell, San Jose,
Santa Clara, Gilroy, Los Altos, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale also have Mills Act programs ( and those are just the
ones in Santa Clara County). I asked about whether Los Gatos had a Mills Act program. You said it did not.
As the owners of a historic home in Los Gatos that is in need of significant repair and restoration, my husband
and I would very much appreciate the economic incentives of such a program.
We believe the creation of a Mills Act program for the Town of Los Gatos should be a priority for 2019. We
would like to speak about this at the upcoming Council Priorities Meeting (1/22/2019, 7pm).
