RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
COMMENDING EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY
THE POLICE OFFICER'S ASSOCIATION
FOR SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
DURING EARTHQUAKE EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property
have arisen within the Town of Los Gatos caused by earthquake commencing at or about
5:04 P.M. on the 17th day of October, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the Town Manager of the Town of Los Gatos acting as Director
of Emergency Services, did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within the Town
of Los Gatos on the 17th day of October, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the employees of the Town of Los Gatos which are represented
by the Police Officer's Association were required to respond immediately to provide help
and assistance to the Community during this time of peril; and
WHEREAS, these employees have continued to provide their expertise to the
Community through many hours of tireless service; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council recognizes that the nature of this service has
been above and beyond the call of duty;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is with great pride that the Town
Council of the Town of Los Gatos renders its deep appreciation and gratitude on behalf
of the Community to the Employees of the Police Officer's Association for their dedicated
service to the Town during the State of Emergency caused by the Earthquake of October
17, 1989.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 6th day of November, 1989 by the following
vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Thomas J. Ferrito, Robert L. Hamilton,
Brent N. Ventura, Mayor Joanne Benjamin
