COMMENDING THE CRISIS LINE FOR THE HANDICAPPED
ON THEIR 10TH ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, the CRISIS LINE FOR THE HANDICAPPED is a 24 -hour switchboard,
taking emergency calls from the Northern California handicapped community; and
WHEREAS, in addition to peer counseling, information and access to
over 40,000 agencies in their referrals directory, the CRISIS LINE FOR THE
HANDICAPPED also provides temporary food, shelter, and even discretionary
funding to those truly in need; and
WHEREAS, the switchboard handles over 5,000 calls a year. The
response to these calls may help save a life, improve a life, or simply
provides a sympathetic ear for someone in need.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Los Gatos Town Council does
hereby commend, thank, and express its appreciation and gratitude to CRISIS
LINE FOR THE HANDICAPPED for the service given to Northern California citizens
and further congratulate them on their 10th anniversary.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 6th day
of February , 1989 by the following vote:

Robert L. Hamilton, Brent N. Ventura,
and Mayor Joanne Benjamin.
