RESOLUTION REMANDING TO PLANNING COMMISSION
THE APPEAL OF PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVAL OF
PLANS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A PARKING LOT IN CONJUNCTION
WITH AN EXISTING APARTMENT BUILDING
(167 VILLA AVENUE - OWNER CHARLES D. TUZAR)
WHEREAS:
1. Charles D. Tuzar has appealed a decision of the Planning
Commission as follows: Approval of plans for development of a parking lot
in conjunction with an existing apartment building on property located at
167 Villa Avenue and owned by Charles D. Tuzar (Variance Application
V -86 -6, Conditional Use Permit Application U -86 -19 and Architecture and
Site Application S- 65 -14A);
1987.
2. A public hearing was held by the Town Council on August 17,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The Town Council hereby finds that the Planning Commission
erred in not considering eliminating the access from Main Street and in
not considering more landscaping on the portion of the lot fronting on
Main Street.
2. Based on the foregoing, the appeal is hereby remanded to the
Planning Commission to consider the following:
a. eliminate the driveway to Main Street, replacing it with
landscaping and add parking;
b. re- examine the landscaping plan and add large crowing
trees that would allow visibility from Blain Street to the parking lot for
surveillance purposes, eg. redwoods; and
c. review the fencing, including approval of a sample of
the wrought iron fencing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 21 day of September ,
1987 by the following vote.

Robert L. Hamilton & Mayor Brent N. Ventura
