1986-137-Concerning Charges In Uniform Code Due To Local Conditions As Required By Health And Safety Code Selection 17958.7RESOLUTION NO. 1986 -137
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING CHANGES IN UNIFORM
CODE DUE TO LOCAL CONDITIONS AS REQUIRED BY
HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 17958.7
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS RESOLVES:
Pursuant to the provision of Section 17958.7 of the Health and
Safety Code of the State of California, the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos has determined that the modifications to the 1985 edition
of the Uniform Building Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code specified
in this resolution are reasonably necessary because of local conditions.
(a) The change to Table 29a of the Uniform Building Code contained
in Town Code Section 7.02.030 is made because the soil and
geological conditions within the Town limits and the proximity
of the Town's location to the San Andreas Fault necessitates
steel reinforcing in concrete foundations for structural
safety.
(b) The changes to Section 1008f of the Uniform Plumbing Code
contained in Town Code Section 7.04.040 are made to protect
health and safety because of the effect of local corrosive
soils on unprotected ferrous piping.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS, CALIFORNIA
