A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
WHEREAS, the San Francisco Bay and Delta is an estuary of national
significance in terms of habitat for fish and other aquatic
life, for recreation, municipal, agricultural, and industrial
water supply, and as an aesthetic resource; and
WHEREAS, this resource is subject to adverse impacts from point and non -
point discharges of pollutants; and
WHEREAS, the need for more research on the effects of pollutants on the
San Francisco Bay and Delta is of interest to the Town and all
others who care about the protection of the Bay area; and
WHEREAS, funding for such research has been proposed as part of the
Clean Water Act reauthorization currently before Congress;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council expresses its full
support for federal funding for research on the impacts of
pollutant discharges on the San Francisco Bay and Delta, and
further instructs the Mayor to so inform the appropriate Con-
gressional representatives.
