A RESOLUTION COMMENDING
LESLIE FRIES
WHEREAS, the Los Gatos Town Council, in 1979, designated LESLIE FRIES as one of
the official Ambassadors of the Town of Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, as a member of a select group of seven Ambassador II Girl Scouts, LESLIE
has completed two pre - travel trips (one to San Francisco in 1980, and one
to Canada in 7981); and, as part of the requirements fulfilling the
Ambassador II Girl Scout designation, has completed four service projects
for the Los Gatos community; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the group, LESLIE helped in successfully raising the funds
needed for the trip by serving at the Not Dog Booth at various Town civic
and service group functions; and
WHEREAS, LESLIE and her fellow Ambassadors have worked diligently to become
familiar with the customs, government, language, and culture of ten
countries they will be visiting from June 20 through August 8, 7983; and
WHEREAS, the Ambassadors will be representing the Town of Los Gatos at the Girl
Scouts World Center in Edelboden, Switzerland in mid -July;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Los Gatos Town Council does hereby commend
LESLIE FRIES and the Ambassador II Girl Scouts for outstanding performance in
fostering genuine friendship and understanding between the United States and those
ten countries the Scouts will be visiting this summer.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California, at a
regular meeting held this 6th day of June, 1983, by the following vote:
