RESOLUTION PROPOSING ADOPTION OF SPECIAL TAX
1. California Government Code §50077(a) allows the Legislative body of any
city to propose by resolution the adoption of a special tax under certain conditions;
2. The Town Council desires to propose an amendment to the transient occupancy
tax in compliance with §50077;
THE T014N COUNCIL THEREFORE RESOLVES:
1. It is hereby proposed that §28 -18 of the Town Code be amended to increase
the transient occupancy tax from its current rate of 6 -1/2% to 10 %.
2. The method of collection of the tax shall be as set forth in §28 -18 of the
n.141 . -
3. The date upon which an election shall be held to approve the levy of the
proposed tax is November 2, 1982.
4. The language of the ballot measure proposed to the voters shall be as follows:
"Shall the Town Council be authorized to amend the transient
occupancy tax of the Town of Los Gatos, which is a tan on
hotel /motel room charges and is currently set at 6 -1/2 %, to
a maximum of 10 %, such increase to be made only after a public
hearing before the Town Council?"
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos this 19th
day of July , 1982, by the following vote:
