A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF LOS GATOS AUTHORIZING THE LOS GATOS MEMORIAL
LIBRARY TO PARTICIPATE IN CALIFORNIA LIBRARY
SERVICES ACT.
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos maintains the Los Gatos Memorial
Library for the purposes of meeting informational, edu-
cational and recreational needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos is desirous of improving those
services while deriving the greatest possible benefits
of the use of public funds by:
I. Providing to its residents access to the materials
and services of other libraries in the state through
resource sharing;
2. Obtaining the maximum state and federal funding in
support of such sharing; and
3. Augmenting services to those segments of the
community not presently served; and
WHEREAS, the California Library Services Board has funds available
under the California Library Services Act (Education Code
Title 1, Division 1, Part 11, Chapter 4) to assist and
support the sharing of library materials and services by
California's libraries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Los Gatos Memorial Library
is authorized to participate in the programs of the California
Library Services Act; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Manager of the Los Gatos
Memorial Library be directed and authorized to annually apply for
and accept funds under this California Library Services Act.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Los Gatos Town Council at a regular
meeting held this 1st day of March 1982, by
the following vote:
