A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE APPLICATION OF
GENERAL TELEPHONE & ELECTRONICS CO. BEFORE
THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION FOR AN
INCREASE IN SERVICE RATES.
WHEREAS, the General Telephone & Electronics Company (GTE) filed
Application No. 60340 before the California State Public Utilities Commission;
and
WHEREAS, that application requests increases in service rates by GTE to
its customers; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has heard testimony concerning the quality of
service on the part of GTE on various occasions; and
WHEREAS, the residents of the Town of Los Gatos have notified the Town
Council that there continues to be a poor quality of telephone service provided
to Town residents by GTE; and
WHEREAS, there has been no significant improvement in the quality of
service to Town residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council is on record as being
opposed to any rate increase being granted to GTE until the quality of service
to Town residents is improved by GTE.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California,
at a continued regular meeting held this 9th day of September
1981, by the following vote:
