A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ESTABLISHING A DEADLINE FOR REQUESTING
PUBLIC HEARING CONTINUANCES.
WHEREAS, the purpose of public hearings is to provide members of
the community with an opportunity to express their views on matters of con -
cern; and
WHEREAS, continuance of public hearings without adequate notice
tends to discourage public participation in subsequent hearings;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council establishes
the policy that it will not accept requests for continuances from applicants
on public hearing matters after 12:00 noon of the Wednesday preceding any
Council meeting provided, however, that the Council retains the right to make
exceptions to this policy when it finds that a genuine emergency exists which
was not known to the applicant prior to 12:00 noon of the Wednesday prior to
such Council meeting.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council
of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 5th day of May 1980,
by the following vote:
