RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
RECOGNIZING APRIL 1991 AS EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS MONTH
WHEREAS, growing scientific evidence points to the high probability of major,
damaging earthquakes in the San Francisco Bay Region in the near future; and,
WHEREAS, the ability of residents of this Town to safely survive and quickly recover
from a major earthquake is dependent on their level of preparedness for an earthquake;
and,
WHEREAS, the Governor of California will proclaim April 1991 as Earthquake
Preparedness Month throughout the State of California and has asked that all communities
develop preparedness activities to take place that month;
NOW THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE that the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
recognizes April 1991 as Earthquake Preparedness Month, calling upon all Town residents,
businesses and government agencies to actively participate in Earthquake Preparedness
Month, and to prepare for a damaging earthquake in this Town.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 1st day of April, 1991, by the following vote:
