RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR
TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR
RECYCLING AND RESIDENTIAL YARD WASTE SERVICES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Resources Code 40057, the Town of Los Gatos shall
provide for source reduction, recycling, and composting activities; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has found and declared in the enactment
of Public Resources Code and the Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 that the
rapidly increasing volume of solid waste resulting from population growth, industrial
expansion, and other factors requires an organized and comprehensive approach to solid
waste management; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Los Gatos's Franchise Agreement provides for the
Town to retain the right to contract with another business entity to provide recycling
services for its inhabitants, and the Town desires to issue a Request for Proposals for
Recycling and Residential Yard Waste Services;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: authorize the issuance of a Request
for Proposals for Recycling and Residential Yard Waste Services.
This Resolution hereby authorizes the Request for Proposals to be issued in
substantially the same form as is on file in the Town Clerk's office.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 18th day of January, 1994, by the following vote:
