RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
APPROVING PASSPORT ACCEPTANCE AGENCY SERVICES
IN THE TOWN CLERIC'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, the Town Council authorized the Town Clerk, Senior Town Clerk and Deputy
Clerk to act as Passport Application Acceptance Agents and the Office of the Town Clerk to act
as Passport Application Acceptance Agency by resolution in March of 1998; and,
WHEREAS, these duties involve the acceptance of renumeration for service from the State
Department of fifteen dollars; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of this service to the Town is covered by the Acceptance Agent's
compensation authorized by the State Department; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of this service will not increase; and,
WHEREAS, the service provided to the Town has been outstanding and very well received; and,
WHEREAS, requests have been received for increased passport service from the public; and,
WHEREAS, this service is self sustaining in regards to resources and has an internal structure to
support it; and,
WHEREAS, resources are sufficient to hire a part time deputy clerk for a trial period of six
months,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; that a budget adjustment for Passport Acceptance
Agency Services in the Town Clerk's Office be made by transferring $6,010.00 from Passport
Services Revenues 1056 -46096 to Salaries 1055/1056 -51106 for a quarter time deputy clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos,
California, held on the 4th day of January 1999, by the following vote:
